The Most Unique Libraries in the World

"The people you meet in life are not just people, they are walking libraries" - Rufus Sir

This line struck a cord in me when one of our professors shared it with us in class. Libraries are sacred spaces for readers. To call someone a "walking library" is a mark of respect and acknowledgement of their valuable experiences. This idea could also encourage shy, socially-anxious, book-loving people to approach and interact with people more comfortably.

Apart from the comfort and familiarity the association offers, this notion also helps build strong interpersonal relationships. When every interaction teaches you something, it makes you more interested and attentive towards people and what they say. In a world where everyone is eager to talk, listening is what holds together relationships.

There are many instances in my life where talking to people prepared me for important events in my life. Even today, I attended my first placement interview, and my confidence came not just from individual prep, but also talking to my friends. The diverse and enriching insights they shared and the consistent support they offered me are something I will always be grateful for.

India has a culture of respecting elders. And we value experience as one of the greatest teachers. Here, we are not merely valuing an age greater than ours, but the experience of a world we have yet to encounter. So those life experiences that our teachers, parents, grandparents, and anyone (be it someone younger or older than us) share with us are knowledge we can never find in any library. Each person's life is unique, and getting a glimpse of it is an honour.

Hence, let's cherish each moment of interaction in life as chapters from biographies that are in the making.
