The Art of Carrying Pain by Lekhaa MeenakshiSudaram and Veda Vardhini Maria Praveen

Q) What inspired you to write this book? Was it a person, an idea, or a specific moment in your life, or a little bit of everything?
A: So usually this book was based on heartbreak and usually people face it but they don’t have the confidence to come out and write about it. It is not like something I personally faced, but then, I’ve had friends who have gone through heartbreaks and I want to bring that out to other people as well.
Q) So what are the challenges you faced in the making of the book?
A: So the challenge was basically in the manuscript; it was kind of tough finishing it. I finished it during the break, like May to June, the holidays. And during that time, it was not the easiest because publishing was online, and they wanted cash for publishing as well. I think the amount is really high, they want like Rs. 1000 for just a book. The book was around 200 pages, 100-200 pages. I feel like the rates are a bit high.
Q) Do you have plans to write any new books in the future?
A: Yes, I’ve been planning to write a new book sometime before the end of the year. And that would be something about love. So first is heartbreak, and the next one is about love. So yeah.

Q) What inspired you to write this book? Was it a person, an idea, or a specific moment in your life, or a little bit of everything?
A: Honestly, I was inspired by the rock bottoms I hit at that time.
Q) So what are the challenges you faced in the making of the book?
A: I realised my vulnerability, and that was the biggest challenge. What would people think? Are they going to judge? I put up a happy face before people, and I ask them to be happy, but will this show the other side?
Q) Do you have plans to write any new books in the future?
A: I am working on it

Conclusion
Interviewing the authors around me was an enriching experience. The feeling of meeting the person whose name is etched on the cover page of the book you hold is always a special moment. These conversations opened my eyes to the nuances of the very art of writing and creation.
Some books are born out of a passionate urge to express a thought, feeling, or experience, while many others are born out of a friend's suggestion or the desire to write something. The beginnings are many, the journeys are unique, but what's common in every story is the constant choice to keep doing what you are doing.
Let not the setbacks in the journey deter your writer's calling. Authors before you have been there and moved beyond them, so will you. All the best!
